Business travel insurance
Business travel insurance ensures the safety of employees when travelling
Your company’s biggest asset is its employees. If you send them on a business trip, always provide them with travel insurance. This is helpful if an employee is struck by a health problem while travelling, such that the employee requires urgent medical attention; if their luggage, which includes the necessary tools or representative clothing, is lost; or if they encounter another obstacle while travelling.
Medical care abroad
We will help you find a suitable hospital or doctor and pay the treatment invoices.ERGO 24/7 travel assistance

Medical assistance
We will indemnify the costs of examination and treatment due to an accident or sudden illness during the trip. If the patient needs medical transport (e.g. ambulance, rescue helicopter), we will also indemnify the cost.
Travel disruption
If the trip is cancelled, we will indemnify the expenses incurred before the trip.
In case of trip interruption, we will indemnify the justified expenses for continuing the trip or returning to Estonia. We will also indemnify the costs of unused services due to the interruption of the trip.
We will indemnify the expenses incurred if the trip is cancelled or interrupted for any of the following reasons:
- The insured employee or their immediate family member suddenly falls ill, gets into an accident, or dies.
- For example, an employee falls ill before the start of the business trip and is therefore unable to go on the trip.
- The insured employee becomes a victim of a crime or their property is damaged.
- For example, while travelling, they learn that an accident has occurred in their home and they need to return home.
- The vehicle is delayed due to a technical malfunction, traffic accident, or bad weather.
- For example, the employee will not arrive on time for the connecting flight, because the departure of the initial flight was delayed by several hours due to a blizzard.
If you need more extensive cover, choose additional travel disruption cover. This is helpful if the trip is cancelled or interrupted as a result of a natural disaster, a change in flight schedule or any other unexpected event.
Natural disaster, change in flight plan, other unexpected events
We will indemnify the expenses incurred if the trip is cancelled or interrupted for the following reasons:
- The schedule changes or the transport provided for in the travel package does not function due to an earthquake, volcanic eruption, hurricane, tsunami, flood, etc.
- For example, an employee on a business trip is forced to cancel their trip because the destination has been hit by a hurricane, the hotel is closed, and the airport is not accepting flights.
- The airline changes the regular flight schedule after purchasing the tickets or the flight is overbooked.
- For example, the flight tickets have been bought several months in advance, but the airline announces the cancellation of the flight a month before the trip. The airline does offer a replacement flight, but this may not be suitable for the original travel plans and there will be a need for additional accommodation.
- Other unexpected events that are not excluded by the terms and conditions.
- For example, you are going to an international conference, but the organiser cancels the conference due to the illness of the keynote speaker.
Luggage insurance
We will indemnify the theft, loss and damage of items carried during the trip, as well as the delayed arrival of luggage.
For example, when you get your suitcase back at the airport, you find that a corner is broken or the wheel has come off.
Third party liability insurance
We will indemnify any damage caused to a third party.
For example, in a shop you accidentally brush against objects on a shelf with your bag, which fall off and break.

Good to know / FAQ
It is worth taking out multi-trip travel insurance if the head or employees of the company go on frequent business trips. If there are 1–2 business trips during the year, and they tend to be to different regions (e.g. one to Europe and the other to Asia or the USA), then in this case it is reasonable to prefer one-time travel insurance.
The Health Insurance Fund has stated the following on its website: the European Health Insurance Card does not cover all expenses that may be incurred with the necessary medical care. The patient must pay deductibles (visit fee, in-patient fee, co-payment of pharmaceuticals, etc.) according to local rates. The card does not cover the cost of interstate transport or expenses incurred when seeing a private doctor.
This is not covered by travel insurance. In the event of the tour operator’s insolvency, the tour operator or the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority must be contacted.
