What to do if you have an accident while travelling?
If you fall ill while travelling and need medical attention
Seek immediate medical attention. If you need help finding a medical institution, call the ERGO travel assistance number +372 633 3746. If you pay for the treatment yourself, keep all documents and invoices and submit them to ERGO together with the benefit application after returning to Estonia.
If you are unable to travel due to an unexpected event
Contact your travel agency, airline or hotel as soon as possible to change or cancel your trip. In order to receive indemnity, submit an application to ERGO together with documents proving the reason for the cancellation and the actual expenses.
If you cannot catch your next flight due to a flight delay
First, check with the airline to see if replacement tickets are offered or if existing tickets can be exchanged for an additional fee. If this option is not offered, new flight tickets must be bought to continue the journey. The most convenient way to do this is through ERGO travel assistance. Be sure to ask for proof of the delay or cancellation of the scheduled flight!
If your luggage does not reach the transfer point or destination with the passenger
Inform the luggage service at the local airport and request a corresponding certificate. Keep all documents for the purchase of basic necessities purchased due to luggage delay.
If your luggage is stolen
Contact the local police and register the incident in accordance with the applicable procedure. After arriving in your home country, submit to ERGO an application for indemnity, a police certificate, and expense receipts proving the acquisition of stolen items.
