Pre-contract details of MoD insurance for the client
What you need to know before concluding a contract.
MoD insurance reimburses damage caused to your vehicle and you do not need to worry about large unexpected costs.
You can get ERGO MoD from the e-office, which helps you in cases when you have caused the traffic accident or any other accident occurs, which involves the damage of the car – be it a scratch on the car, damaged glass, theft or destruction.
A detailed overview of insurance covers is given in the ERGO Motor Hull Insurance Terms and Conditions. Please see also the General Terms and Conditions of ERGO Insurance Services.
Why buy ERGO motor hull insurance:
- In ERGO, you can choose which insurance cover you need.
- In the case of a glass repair, no deductible shall be applied.
- In the case of glass replacement, you can choose a lower deductible or no deductible at all.
- Quick and high-quality claims handling.
- ERGO roadside assistance for passenger cars, small vans and motorcycles in regular use throughout Europe.
- The possibility to add an ERGO replacement car in place of a passenger car or small van in regular use for up to 60 days during the insurance period.
- The possibility of adding additional protection where no deductible is applied in case of a collision with an animal or a bird. In addition, the deductible will not apply in the event of damage caused as a result of the avoidance of collision with an animal or a bird, if the event can be proven by the recording of an on-board camera.
When will MoD insurance not help?
Damage is not reimbursed:
- When occurring while the vehicle is used outside of the insurance territory or outside the area intended for normal traffic.
- When it has been caused by natural wear and tear resulting from normal use of the vehicle, including minor scratches and dents to the paintwork and other parts of the vehicle, surface scratches, dents and wear to the glass.
- When caused to the vehicle’s passenger compartment by pets.
- When caused to the vehicle at the time when the vehicle had unlawfully left the possession of its owner or legal holder and it had not been properly reported to the police.
- When the vehicle participated in a competition, training or drove outside of the road traffic.
- When caused by war, terrorism, civil unrest or strike.
- When caused by the use of the wrong motor fuel.
The full list of exclusions, in which cases the indemnity will not be paid, is provided in the ERGO Motor Hull Insurance Terms and Conditions.

Term of the contract
MoD insurance contract is concluded without a fixed term. The insurance period is one year. Before the insurance period expires, ERGO will send you a new insurance policy and invoice.
Insurance premium
The insurance premium is based on the risk assessment of the customer and the terms and conditions of ERGO payment calculation. The amount of the insurance premium is shown in the e-office payment calculation and insurance policy. Entering into an insurance contract at the ERGO e-office does not entail any other costs for the customer. Payment of the insurance premium at the ERGO e-office is done through a bank link displayed to the customer.
Termination, cancellation and withdrawal of contract
The insurance contract terminates after the end of the insurance period, cancellation or withdrawal of the insurance contract or on other bases provided by law. The parties have the right to cancel the insurance contract pursuant to the procedure and on the bases provided for in the Law of Obligations Act and with the agreement of the parties. Upon termination of the insurance contract, we do not apply administrative expenses or contractual penalties.
Any request to amend or terminate an indefinite insurance contract must be notified in advance to the other party at least one month before the end of the annual insurance period.
Due to the fact that the insurance contract is entered into at the ERGO e-office, the consumer policyholder has the right to withdraw from the insurance contract within 14 days after entry into the insurance contract without stating the reason. You can send your withdrawal notice via ERGO’s website or by e-mail to info@ergo.ee. If you withdraw from an insurance contract, we will repay you the premiums for the time during which we did not have to bear insurance liability.
